GraduatePrograms.com’s “Fall 2015 Rankings of Top Biomedical Engineering Graduate Programs” is based on a survey of current and recent graduate students. Topics that were evaluated include academic competitiveness, career support, financial aid, and quality of network. The rankings were compiled from data gathered between Sept. 1, 2012 and Sept. 30, 2015. The survey is held in the spring and fall of each year and has been conducted since 2012.
Like last April, the U’s bioengineering department was second only behind Rice University’s graduate program. Rounding out the top five in the new survey are University of Minnesota Twin Cities, Johns Hopkins University and Brown University.
“We are really gratified to see our national ranking by students remain at this extremely high level,” said U bioengineering department chairman Patrick Tresco, “We are able to offer clinically immersive training due to the fact that our classrooms are next to, or often within, the hospital environment.”
